Sandesh is the newsletter of IndUS of Fox Valley that was started in January 2003. Sandesh, in Sanskrit, means the message. Besides keeping the members and well-wishers informed about our activities and programs, IndUS has evolved into a journal addressing issues of special interest that affects the people in India and the USA. Issues have been dedicated to topics such as architecture, education, healthcare, social entrepreneurship, cultural identity, poetry, arts, music and dance, and such. We invite authors from both India and the US to share their expertise, experience, and perspectives. Sandesh welcomes articles and suggestions for future issues. Our outreach and education programs extend all over Northeast Wisconsin and especially in Brown, Calumet, Outagamie and Winnebago counties.
We create awareness of Indian culture and diversity via education and outreach programs by participating in diversity fairs and multicultural nights at various schools, public libraries and the Building for Kids (children's museum). We work with projects initiated by Appleton City, and other non profit organizations. We support children's education and eradicate hunger by sponsoring the school district's back pack program.
