Diip Tannan was born in Mumbai, India and grew up in Nagpur before immigrating to the United States in 1980. He has been living in Oshkosh since 1986 where he has been a practicing physician in the community for over 35 years. Dilip has had a keen interest in music since he was a child. He enjoys singing devotional songs and Bollywood numbers. He also enjoys playing multiple Indian instruments and has self-taught himself how to play the harmonium, tabla, and most recently, the bamboo flute. As a musician, he has had the privilege of being part of several musical groups and participating in informal jam sessions with friends. He also enjoys performing for local non-profit organizations like INDUS and SHAMA. He remains active in musical events like “Make Music Day”, picnic events sponsored by Community Foundation, and enjoys singing devotional songs at the Hindu Temple of North-East Wisconsin (HTNEW) in Kaukauna and the Sikh Temple in Menasha. He also enjoys participating in local fund-raising concerts like Doctors in Recital. Dilip is extremely grateful for the Fox Valley Community, which has been a wonderful, nurturing community in which he and his wife, Ritu, have raised their two beautiful daughters. Dilip still works part-time as a physician, and enjoys spending his free time playing with his 2 grandsons, picking up new sports like pickleball, or looking for more cheesy jokes to deliver at the next family gathering.
