IndUS Compassion Walk

IndUS of Fox Valley is organizing ‘IndUS Compassion Walk’ in memory of our long time volunteer Sandhya Maheshwari on 20th May, 2023. All proceeds from the walk will be made to a benefit as per her family.

Sandhya was a lively, and genuine person with a winsome smile that reflected her inner self. She was a loving mother, committed employee, passionate volunteer and a reliable friend! She fulfilled and balanced all these roles with geniality and dedication.

Sandhya, her husband Yogesh and kids Anusha (20), Krittika (18) and Akhil (14) have always been dynamic and valuable volunteers of IndUS of Fox Valley. Sandhya Maheshwari was an active volunteer of Education & Outreach Committee, Sandesh magazine, and served meals at the Salvation army as part of Seva. She took up various leadership roles as the chair of reception committee, chair of banquet committee and stepped in to the IndUS board in early 2017. She continued to be a steadfast supporter of IndUS through organizational restructuring in 2020 and proved to be an able secretary of the Indus board from 2020-2021. It was a privilege to have worked with her on so many committees and programs of IndUS over the last 14 years. Sandhya Maheshwari’s loss is tragic for her family and the community. She is immortal in the way she has impacted countless lives!

Sandhya was born and raised in India and has been a resident of Appleton for 15 years. She had an undergraduate degree in Textile Engineering and worked as an Account Specialist, of Timberland brand, for VF Corporation. Engaging in community services was very important to her. She believed that volunteering gives people a sense of purpose and it’s a great way to give back and get to know your community as a citizen. Summer was Sandy’s, so called by colleagues and friends, favorite season since she loved to garden, hike, and run. She had avidly participated in 5K runs and half Marathons. Sandy lived a life that created many wonderful, and meaningful memories not only for her family but for her friends, the community and beyond. Join us in celebrating a vibrant individual!

Pizza and bottled water is included in the registration fees.
